Simply put, Shaun is as good as they come. Shaun just helped us complete both the sale of our previous home, and the purchase of another. He has my whole-hearted recommendation for anyone looking to buy or sell. There are more reasons for this than I can really list here, but let me focus on just a few of them.
Personal Attention - From day one, Shaun's main focus was learning about our specific needs and what we needed to accomplish through this move. Shaun's knowledge of the market and strong negotiating skills were essential in maximizing every dollar and making what seemed impossible a reality.
Marketing - Because of our own set of unique circumstances, we were looking to complete both the sale of our home and the purchase of the next home in a very short period of time. Shaun was extremely helpful in guiding us through a a strategy to accomplish this...from prepping our home, to listing it, to shopping for the next home. Because of his guidance, our home sold the first weekend it was listed, and we closed on our new place very shortly after. In a span of a couple months, we went from talking about listing one place to fully moved into the next. Truly remarkable.
Unselfish - This overlaps a bit with the first paragraph, but throughout the entire process of both transactions, Shaun regularly considered only our best interests, and never his own. There were numerous occasions where he could have easily guided us toward an easier, quicker, or more lucrative outcome. Shaun never did that. He always focused on keeping us aimed at what would work best for our family, and what would help keep us financially secure. Of all the good things I could say about Shaun, this one is probably the most important. He is truly your advocate in the home-selling/buying process. It's fairly easy to find an agent skilled in the mechanics of a real estate transaction. It's not so easy to find one interested in being your advocate first and foremost. Shaun is both.

BUT, if you want the one that goes above and beyond the call of duty, who is responsive, timely, makes you feel like you're his only client..... who listens and brings you back to your priorities over and over again, who won't let you settle, who wants to see you and your family in the right house, in the right community, and knows how to take the stress out the process.......only Shaun Murphy will do!!!
We found Shaun on line and gave him a call back in May. We hadn't listed our home, but were considering it, and just wanted to see what was available in the Alexandria area. Shaun gave us an entire day as we researched the market, even though we weren't seriously looking. Our confidence in him was immediate, he knows his business, the areas, the market. Two weeks later we were on the market and house hunting for real, but our wish list was long, our budget limited, and our dreams too big to settle. As the process went on week after week, house after house, my enthusiasm dwindled. Was there nothing we could afford that work? Shaun assured us there was, to give it time, not to settle. House hunting wasn't easy for us, we'd settled once before and didn't want to make the same mistake.
